Daily mindfulness

The human body is akin to an alchemical

laboratory, a fusion of all that goes into it.

We spend energy when we eat sweets, cakes, pastries, processed and devitalised food,

drink tea (other than herbal), coffee and alcohol. All of which deplete our energy reserves.

We gain life force energy when we eat foods alive with prana (the vital life force) as a result of being grown naturally in the soil of the earth. Foods such as fruit, vegetables, legumes, grains, seeds and nuts - when grown organically (without pesticides) give us the greatest amount of nutritional energy, and add to our human energy credit account considerably.

Consuming food that is good for us rather than eating solely for pleasure is a prerequisite for making wise food choices. That is not to say it is wrong to enjoy coffee and/or alcohol in moderation. It is simply a matter of keeping the balance towards the most nutritious foods and

drinks on a daily basis. For example, fresh vegetable juice is a better choice than a sugar-laden soft drink. A fresh apple is better, nutritionally, than canned apples and so on. Making positive nutritional choices for the benefit of our health pays great dividends.

Ideally, one would spend human energy i.e. consume coffee, sweets, alcohol etc. provided there are credit reserves available in one's energy system to spare. When we are unwell, we have used all our available energy credit. This is when it is wise to focus on foods particularly high in nutrition and also alkalinity (yang), which will help to restore wellbeing. It's an effective way to regain our health when we have been unwell, especially in combination with drinking plenty of water, regular exercise and being conscious of the way one breathes. Tips for beneficial and more effective breathing can be found on the FAQ page of my website.
